Meshtastic is an open-source off-grid communication platform. Your phone connects to a Meshtastic-compatible radio over Bluetooth, and that radio communicates with others. These compatible radios can pass messages through each other to extend coverage in a mesh network—all without using cell towers or Wi-Fi.
MeshCore is a separate LoRa-based mesh communication platform designed for reliable off-grid communication. Compatible radios talk directly to one another without the need for cell towers or regular internet. It is a dedicated ecosystem optimized for range and simplicity, separate from Meshtastic.
MeshCore and Meshtastic are separate communication ecosystems. A device configured for one does not automatically communicate with devices running the other.
