    •    A: Yes! Meshtivity provides fully assembled, flashed, and tested mesh radio nodes right here in Bend. Unlike buying raw development boards online, our hardware is completely ready to deploy. Just download the free Meshtastic app on your smartphone, connect via Bluetooth, and you are ready to communicate off-grid.

Q: What kind of range can I expect from these nodes in Central Oregon?
    •    A: Range depends heavily on your altitude and line of sight. In the flat high-desert terrain or from an elevated position (like Pilot Butte), a standard Heltec V3 node can easily transmit several miles. Indoors or heavily forested areas will reduce range, which is why building up our local Bend mesh network with more neighbor nodes helps everyone stay connected.
Q: Do I need a cell signal, internet connection, or a subscription to use these?
    •    A: No. These nodes operate on the subscription-free 915 MHz US public radio band. They create an entirely independent, decentralized network. You can send text messages and share GPS locations even if cell towers are completely down during an emergency.
